Morven McCallum is a civil
servant who loves cinema, theatre, aerobics, dance and
(she confesses) unfortunately chocolate – although to look at her, you would
never guess! Some of the shows she has
been involved with are The King and I,
Oliver, Kiss Me Kate, South Pacific, Half a Sixpence, My Fair Lady and Singin’ in the Rain.
One of her favourite roles to date was Wendy in Peter
Pan. Other Principal roles include Chava (Fiddler
on the Roof), Sally Smith (Me and My Girl), Patsy (Crazy for You), Phyllis Dale (42nd
Street), and one of the Boylan Sisters in Annie.
As a member of our
Management Committee, she has been involved in organising social activities for
the club over the past few years, and has now also taken on the role of Club
Secretary.
In 2005, Morven recreated the role of Sally Smith in our production
of Me and My Girl. Most recently however, she was
married to Ghyll McCallum – another Lyric Member. Fittingly, their first show together with the
Lyric was Crazy for You.
