Ghyll McCallum, and Ayrshire man, had a traumatic initiation into the world of amateur theatre when his cute blonde hair was dyed black for a tw0 week run of The King and I in Ayr Gaiety with Ayr Amateur Operatic Company.  Undaunted by the experience, he has gone on to take part in many other shows staged by Ayrshire Youth Opera, Edinburgh Savoy Opera, Edinburgh Music Theatre and Glasgow Theatre Guild.  He also won the Ayrshire Burns Festival recitation award on two occasions.

Ghyll joined the Lyric Club four years ago and has played several small parts.  Frank in Mack and Mabel  was his biggest role to date.

He now lives in Glasgow and is the proud father of Fraser and Cameron, his two sons.  Other hobbies include skiing, camping and keeping fit at the gym.  Ghyll is also a keen golfer, winning one of the coveted trophies in last year’s NODA Scotland competition.

Ghyll’s most recent “performance” was when he married Morven Cameron – another Lyric member – in May 2006.  It is interesting that their first show together was Crazy for You in 2000.
