Elaine
Wilkie is well known to Glasgow
audiences, having played in numerous musicals with various clubs. Favourite productions include the British
Amateur Premiere of 42nd
Street (Maggie Jones), Scottish Amateur Premiere of La
Cage aux Folles (Anne Dindon), The Hired Man (Emily),
the Scottish Amateur
Premiere of City of Angels (Alaura Kingsley) and the World Amateur Premiere of Big (Mrs Baskin).
Her first appearance
with the Lyric Club was last year in Singin’ in the Rain with her hilarious performance as Lina
Lamont, and has returned this year to play Mabel Normand in Mack and Mabel.
With the critically
acclaimed Wee Slice Theatre Company she has appeared in the following plays at
the Cottier Theatre, Glasgow: Refuge (Sadie); Shakers Re-stirred (Adele) – no fewer than four times!; Rumours,
British version, (Chris
Bevans) and The Odd Couple
– female version (Sylvia).
Elaine has also
performed in every revue with Easychair Productions, and The Best of Easychair can be seen at the end of October in Eastwood
Theatre. She is presently the Scottish
and British champion of a music competition – contemporary voice class – and
overall winner of the competition (five classes in total).
